China X Reader ~ Wisdom Teeth

Yao nervously followed the nurse in front of him, especially after hearing the comforting words of, “Oh, she’s still here?” he couldn’t help but fret.

How could anyone forget about the sheer adorableness that is you, with your bright eyes and your plump lips, he could just kiss you for hours. Though he guessed he should be glad that they apparently didn’t feel the same way but still, you just underwent surgery the least they can do is remember you.

She dragged the curtain out of the way; he cringed at the sound of the metal hoops scrapping on the metal rod. Sitting in a wheelchair, head drooping, and a mouth stuffed with gauze was you.

“Yao is here to take you home,” the nurse bent down and placed a gentle hand on your shoulder before handing you a pair of ice packs, “Press these against your cheeks for fifteen minutes and then off for about ten.”

You jerked your head upwards, eyes unfocused as you tried to listen to what you were being told though one word got through to you as it seems.

Blood streamed past the gauze and down your chin as you tried to speak, eyes finally resting on his form.

Your hands were outreached as you attempted to vault out of the chair only to be pinned down by the nurse.

“It’s just the anesthetic wearing off,” she apologized to me, “she’ll be back to normal in a bit.”

Your muffled scream sprung Yao into action, leaping over to help the nurse pin you down and whisper sweet nothings in Mandarin into your ear.

This seemed to calm you down, as your gaze went unfocused again and a silly grin spread across your face. You would be adorable but it was ruined by the trickle of blood down your chin.

“Here is her supply bag, there is some gauze in there as well as a syringe to clean out the holes a bit further along,” the nurse rattled as Yao moved himself behind the chair, grasping the handles, “her teeth are in bag as well, and you might want to clean them pretty soon.”

“Try to keep her from using a straw or sucking…” a giggle rang out from beneath him and a blush spread across his face, “… and alcohol for about two weeks as this will dislodge the blood clots. Her prescription is also in there as well wait about a half hour to an hour before taking.”

“Xièxiè,” he responded automatically as he took the bag before catching himself and switching to English, “Sorry, thank you.”

Yao rolled you to the door and out to the car waiting there. He helped you into the car, despite your attempts to wrap your arms around him. After getting you settled and your seat belt clipped on, he settled himself into the driver’s seat, backed out, and drove to your shared house after picking up the prescription.

He glanced over to where you were laying as the car sat waiting for the light to change, head lolled back, as you slept off the lingering anesthetic.  You looked so adorable, sans the blood dripping down your chin and the swollen cheeks.

Yao lurched the car forward when he noticed the light changing from red to green. As he neared the house, he reminded himself to wipe up the blood that was starting to drip onto your collarbone as soon as the pair of you were home.

He slid the car into the parking spot and got out of his side and walked over to the other with a Kleenex in his hand. He wiped up the blood that ran down your neck and was on the verge of staining your shirt, after he moved up to your chin and wiped up the blood there.

With a grunt he lifted your prone body up from the seat, after unsnapping the seatbelt, your body instinctively turning to curl up in his arms. He used his hip to close the door behind him while positioning you in his arms so you were comfortable.

When he was halfway up to the door you burrowed your head deeper into his chest. His body stiffened at the attention, despite having dated for several years now, he was still unused to the way you would affectionately touch him.

He had always put his schoolwork first, striving to be the best in his class even if it meant sacrificing his personal life. It wasn’t until you came into his life with a smile plastered on your face that he realized how lonely he was.

He held your body firmly with one arm as he reached with the keys in his other hand to unlock the door.  After getting the door open he walked to the couch where he sat down and gently positioned you so that you were comfortable.

He pressed a gentle kiss to your forehead as his fingers delicately brushed the strands of hair that lay across your forehead behind your ear.

An overwhelming feeling swallowed his chest as he gazed at your face, despite his original hesitation to admit to himself what this feeling was. He finally admitted to himself what he knew all along; maybe one day he would get the courage to say it to your face.

But maybe for now it was enough to whisper it to you as you slept.

“Wǒ ài nǐ.”

This is based on my experiences with my wisdom teeth surgery, except my brother picked me up as I don’t have a boyfriend and all of the romantic stuff as that would be creepy.  AND yes, they did actually forget about me, and after everything that we went through together.

Also something that I should mention now is that the beginning was written originally for a contest that I submitted something else to, that was back in July. I will be the first to admit that my writing style has improved immensely from then so if it is lacking at the beginning that is why also why it seems to move away from the apparent plot. I don’t like this one but I haven’t posted in a week and I feel the need to post something despite it being less than satisfactory.

Also I am opening a request for an Italy X Reader; please go comment on the journal here if you have an idea digifan01.deviantart.com/journ…
